Meet Your Team
Miro Glogovac
Aviation Protection Officer | Melbourne North West

I've been a UWU member for 12 years and work at Melbourne Airport as an Aviation Protection Officer, where I serve as a delegate. I have worked at the airport for many years, but it was during COVID that I realised our employer didn't really care about us and that we needed to work together to win respect. That's when I stood up as a delegate. Helping others is my passion.
-
In 2024, we put bad deals in the rubbish bin, brought the members together, and won our best agreement. I'm standing with United For You because this is the team that works hard to stand up to the boss and make sure workers are respected.
No matter what anyone tells you, our union is on the right track. With United For You, we will continue to improve, to be even stronger, faster, and better in our responses to support our members and fight for their jobs, rights, and conditions.

I've been a UWU member for 20 years and work at Melbourne Airport as an Aviation Protection Officer. I serve as both a delegate and a Member Councillor.
I am known as Mo at the workplace, and past managers used to refer to me as "the bloody Mo." I have had many run-ins with my employer while defending our members, and the United For You team has supported me many times.
I fight day in and day out for our members.
-
Over the last four years, we have built a strong union at the airport that has delivered substantial pay increases and won respect for our members, including strong onsite union representation.
As a Member Councillor, I have seen firsthand the integrity of United For You, both in senior leadership and in our organisers at the workplace.
I have seen our members win because of United For You. I'm standing with this team because they are the ones who back me up.
Harbans Banga
Cleaner | Melbourne North West

I've been a UWU member for five years and work as a cleaner at Melbourne Airport, where I serve as a union delegate.
I became a delegate because I refused to accept mistreatment as "just the way things are." I saw what was happening to myself and my colleagues, and I knew we deserved better.
-
Even when faced with bullying and intimidation meant to divide us, we didn't back down. We managed to connect people and stand together. Because of that unity, we won.
We secured an EBA with real protections, accountability for management, and meaningful pay rises. This victory is more than a personal achievement. It's proof that when ordinary people stand together, extraordinary change is possible. It shows that courage is contagious and solidarity is powerful.
I stand with the United For You team because I've lived the difference they make and seen how they change people's lives.

I've been a proud UWU member for seven years. I work at Melbourne Airport as an Aviation Protection Officer and trainer.
I've been a union member since the very beginning of my career at the airport, and I serve as a delegate. Throughout my time here, I've seen firsthand how important it is to have a strong union that stands up for workers, protects our rights, and ensures fair and safe working conditions.
As a trainer, I take pride in supporting and guiding new staff, and I believe it's just as important that we support each other collectively through our union.
-
In 2024, we achieved one of the strongest outcomes we've ever had. That win didn't happen by chance. It happened because we stood together, stayed united, and fought for what we deserve. I'm supporting United For You because I want to make sure those gains are protected and continue to grow. By backing the United For You team, we can keep improving our conditions, strengthen our voice, and ensure that every worker is supported.

I've been a UWU member for 15 years and work at Melbourne Airport with 15 years of experience in the aviation security industry. I serve as both a delegate and a health and safety officer.
Throughout my career I have taken on these additional responsibilities because I am passionate about supporting my members. I work closely with them to ensure their wellbeing, safety, and fair treatment in the workplace.
-
I stand with United For You because of the strong outcomes we achieved in 2024, securing one of the best agreements for our members.
The United For You team has always been there to support both me and my colleagues, and I am committed to ensuring that these gains continue into the future.

I've been a proud UWU member for over 16 years and work at Melbourne Airport as an Aviation Protection Officer. Whenever I've needed support, the union has been there for me, standing up, providing guidance, and making sure members are looked after.
-
I'm supporting United For You because of the strong results we achieved together in 2024. Those wins made a real difference, and I want to ensure that progress continues rather than goes backwards. That's why I'm backing United For You.

I've been a UWU member for eight years and work as a cleaner at Melbourne Airport, where I serve as a delegate. I stood up as a delegate because I know unions are the way that workers can make sure they are treated fairly. Despite my boss being very opposed to the union and not wanting us to have an EBA, I stood up to them and demanded fair pay for all workers.
-
I'm supporting the United For You team because I have seen their dedication to workers winning and I know that they can do it.
Heather Herzog
Detention Service Manager | Melbourne North West

I've been a UWU member for three years. I work at the Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre (MIDC) as a Detainee Service Officer, and I serve as the union delegate at my workplace. I joined the union because I wanted to make a difference, support our members, and ensure staff were getting what they were entitled to under our EA agreement.
I am approachable and always willing to listen. I value open communication and believe everyone's opinion matters when making decisions that affect our group.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, which is very important to me. I like staying active through sports, walking, and exploring new places. I also try to stay involved in my community through volunteering, helping at local events, and supporting community initiatives.
-
I'm standing for election because I want to represent the voices and interests of our members. The convention is an important place where key decisions are made, and I want to contribute by listening to different perspectives and helping shape decisions that benefit our whole community.
I want to strengthen communication between members and leadership and support policies that benefit the group.
I'm supporting the United For You ticket because the team has a clear commitment to representing members' interests, with a focus on collaboration, transparency, and making sure members' voices are heard in important decisions.

I've been a UWU member for 23 years. I work as a senior educator at Goodstart Early Learning Melton West in early childhood education and care, and I serve as a workplace delegate.
My dad was strong in his union, and I wanted to do the same. Being a union member means I have a voice in my union. I have opportunities to make a difference for myself and my fellow educators.
Outside of work, I love walking my dog, taking part in our local park run, and I love dancing. I'm part of a dancing school. I will always stand beside others and fight for what is right.
-
The union made a real difference when it stopped the under-the-roofline ratios, changed the child-to-staff ratios, and supported my EA with Goodstart and the great pay rise with the MEA.
I want to help keep my union strong. I want to be the voice for people. I know that United For You will always support and fight for educators' rights and needs. They will always do the best by us.

I've been a UWU member for four years. I work at the Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre (MIDC) as a Detention Service Manager, and I serve as a union delegate.
I first joined the union because I wanted fairness, transparency, and a workplace where everyone is treated with respect. I saw the difference a strong union presence makes for workers and I wanted to be part of protecting and improving conditions for my colleagues.
Being a union member means standing together for fairness, respect, and safe working conditions. It means knowing that none of us are alone in the workplace, that we support each other, protect each other, and make sure every voice is heard.
-
I'm standing for election because I want members to have a strong, honest voice at the table. This is my first time standing for convention delegate, and one of my main goals is to make sure detention centre employees have proper support, including a dedicated industrial officers' team that understands our work, our risks, and the pressures we deal with every day.
I'm supporting the United For You ticket because it offers a fresh approach, one that prioritises accountability, member involvement, and honest communication. I want a ticket that listens, follows through, and keeps members fully informed.

I work as a 2IC at Little Stars Early Learning in early childhood education. I joined the union for change in the sector. Being a union member means I am a part of change for the sector.
-
When the service I was at took action to strike for better pay, that was a moment the union made a real difference.
The sector needs change, and I believe that the United For You team can deliver that change for members.
